About the service

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals to enroll their trip abroad so the Department of State can accurately and quickly contact them in case of emergency.

Benefits

• Plan ahead using information from the local U.S. embassy.

• Help the embassy or consulate contact you if there's an emergency like a natural disaster, civil unrest, or a family emergency.

2. Travel.State.Gov

4. Global Re-Entry

Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Global Entry is the perfect program for frequent international or business travelers. If you take fewer international flights, consider enrolling in TSA PreCheck and using the free Mobile Passport Control app to reduce wait time.
